Greetings! I am Valerie Schovanec, the proud principal of the Picotte Pintos!
Picotte serves approximately 400 students. We have three classrooms at grades Kindergarten through Grade 4, one Early Childhood Special Education classroom, and one Early Childhood Inclusive Classroom. We normally support two Omaha Public School Foundation Early Childhood classrooms, although they are temporarily closed during the pandemic. We are very proud of all of our students and the hard work they do each day to meet the high expectations of academic achievement and citizenship that makes Picotte one of the finest schools in the district.
The staff at Picotte Elementary is dedicated, hard working, and enthusiastic! They participate in a variety of professional development throughout the year to ensure that our students receive a top quality, well-rounded educational program.
Picotte is blessed to have outstanding parent and community support. A dynamic PTA provides resources for the school, family events, and a variety of other activities, Bingo nights, and Book Fair just to name a few. Our students and staff enjoy PTA support all year long! We are also blessed with many parents, grandparents, family members, and community members who volunteer their time to help in our classrooms.
Please take time to visit our web pages and follow us on Social Media. Better yet, feel free to stop in and pay us a visit. We would love to show you our beautiful school and have you see our teachers and students engaged in instruction and learning first hand! Our door is always open and we look forward to your visit! We are looking forward to a fantastic year!
Sincerely and with Pinto Pride,
Valerie Schovanec, Principal
